PMG1 - Programmable Modulation Generator

The Programmable Modulation Waveform Generator Model PMG1 creates all the required modulation waveforms as set out in IEC61993-2 (AIS Class A) and IEC 62287 (AIS Class B). It can perform the encoder requirement as set out in IEC61993-2 10.6. The PMG1 is a conveniently sized add on for any good quality signal generator with FM modulation allowing baseband input.

Encoding of the following test signals:

Channel A Test Signal Number 1
A DSC call with an individual station address and with command sets 103 (report your position) and 111 (report ship name) unless otherwise stated (refer to, IEC 61993-2, ITU-R M.825).
Channel A Test Signal Number 2
A slotted binary MSG 8 packet with a payload of 010101 prior to NRZI encoding.
Channel A Test Signal Number 3
A slotted binary MS 8 packet with a payload consisting of 00110011 prior to NRZI encoding.
Channel A Test Signal Number 4
A slotted MSG 8 packet with a payload consisting of an infinite series of Pseudo Random Sequence (PRS) as specified in ITU/T 0.153. This sequence is then NRZI encoded.
Channel A Test Signal Number 5
Standard alternating binary Msg 8 packets with payload of 01010101 and 00110011 respectively encoded every 5th slot
